12 Chinese Zodiac Signs And Symbols
Chinese astrology is linked to twelve animals (i.e. known as the Chinese Zodiac) and the Chinese lunar calendar and the fortune telling aspect were in relation to position and movement heavenly bodies in the sky. In ancient Chinese astrology there were at least five planet that were known, these planets were named after five elements, i.e. Mars is represented by Fire, Jupiter by Wood, Venus by Gold, Mercury by Water, and lastly, Saturn by Earth. It is believed that the positioning of the Sun, Moon at the other planets and their animal sign at the time a person is born can determine the way what the future will be like for that individual There are slight variations in the type of animal in the 12 Zodiac symbols, this depends what part of the World you are in, for example, in Japan they use 'Wild Boar' in the place of 'Pig' and the Japanese also use the Georgian Calendar. In Vietnamese, they use 'Cat' instead of Rabbit.
